Volkswagen T25 / T3 Holdsworth Villa Celebrity Camper Model History
Circa 1990 Holdsworth introduced a special edition of the Holdsworth Villa called the T25 / T3 Volkswagen Holdsworth Villa Celebrity. This special edition was manufactured to celebrate the company’s 21st birthday. The Holdsworth Villa Celebrity edition was available in elevating poptop and hightop roof versions. The hightop version used Volkwagen’s hightop van as a basis. All the models I have seen have been red or white with special “Celebrity” decals. The interior was similar to the standard Holdsworth Villa 3 of the year having cupboards along the side behind the drivers seat and the rear seat converted into a 3/4 width double bed. The Celebrity model had some improvements in the standard specification over the Holdsworth Villa 3 model including light ash furniture, an Italian stainless steel 4 burner cooker and sink (compared to the enamel 2 burner cooker and sink in the Villa 3), flyscreens and an updated Zig Electrical Control Unit. The Holdsworth Villa Celebrity was most likely available with either 78 bhp, 112 bhp water cooled petrol engines or 70 bhp turbo diesel water cooled engines. Either a five speed manual gearbox or an automatic gearbox could most likely also be specified. 3) Volkswagen T25 Holdsworth Villa Celebrity Colour Options As far as I know the VW Holdsworth Villa Celebrity was available in 2 colours. R1R1 Pastel White (L90D) (Pastellweiss) (with white roof) H3H3 Marsala Red (LH3D) (Marsalarot) (with white roof)
4) Volkswagen T25 / T3 Holdsworth Villa Celebrity Furniture Specification Furniture is timber finished with hand crafted beech wood edgings, cappings and handles.
The Volkswagen T25 / T3 Holdsworth Villa Celebrity layout consisted of:
Furniture in the Holdsworth Celebrity model was a light ash colour. A) Adjustable front driver and swivelling passenger cab seats.
B) Front (optional) and rear removable tables.
C) Holdsworth Celebrity had an Italian stainless steel cooker unit with four burners and with grill. This was an upgrade from the standard Villa 3 model as that had a 2 burner cooker.
D) & M) Stainless steel sink unit and drainer. Sink and cooker and drainer top are a one piece unit.
E) Storage unit.
G) Rear wardrobe
K) Rear roof storage locker in elevating poptop roof. Adjustable spotlights on bottom of roof locker.
K) Rear roof storage lockers in hightop roof. Adjustable spotlights on bottom of roof locker.
N) Electrolux RM 212 three way (gas / 12 volt / 240 volt operated) refrigerator (with electronic ignition system) below sink. Fridge has internal freezer compartment.
O) Special under seat compartment for Porta Loo.
Other features include: Gas cylinders stored in cupboard next to fridge. Shelf slides out at touch of a finger for easy access.
Mains electric hook up with earth leakage and overload circuit breakers. 220 volt plug socket. Second battery with split charging. Zig SP-4 electrical control panel with master switches for 12 volt lighting and water pump. Zig WG 2000 water level gauge.
Full carpeting - wool twist with a 5 year guarantee.
Draylon curtains all round.
Draylon fabric seat covers for all seats including the cab seats.
Built in 54.5 litre (12 gallon) underfloor freshwater tank with water level gauge. Rear bench rock n roll seat converts to a large double bed (193 cm a 127 cm). Foam is 5 inches thick.
Fluorescent lighting above kitchen. Individual reading lights at the bed head. Courtesy lights.
5) Options available at extra cost included: Childs cab bunk (1422 mm x 660 mm). Propex thermostatically controlled blown air heating system (could have been standard on Celebrity model?). Front cab table to make second dinette (could have been standard on Celebrity model?). 41 litre waste water tank (could have been standard on Celebrity model?). Flyscreen for louvre window (could have been standard on Celebrity model?).
6) Volkswagen T25 / T3 Holdsworth Villa Celebrity Elevating Solid Sided Poptop Roof Specification
Fully insulated solid sided elevating roof. Simple fail safe one-action raising and lowering mechanism assisted by four gas struts. Adjustable ventilation by adjustment of roof height. Double glazed acrylic plastic window in each side of roof. Roof vent in top of roof. Integral roof rack at front of roof. Large double bed in raised roof (1625 mm x 1118 mm)
7) Volkswagen T25 / T3 Holdsworth Villa Celebrity Hightop Roof Specification
Uses Volkswagen’s factory fibreglass hightop roof with standing height from the rear seat right to the front windscreen. Due to the design of the roof there are no interrupting roof beams. Opening windows on each side of roof. Cupboard at the front of the hightop.
Optional lift out shelf at front for extra storage. Its possible this was available for Celebrity model?
Optional overcab bed instead of front locker.
Rear roof lockers arranged to maintain headroom.
